Computer Problems

*sighs with twice the emphasis*

I had a brilliantly written post about my computer hard drive failing and about some collaging I did last night with sites and everything, and the STUPID browser froze!!!!!

Okay. I will try to remember and write it down again. However, I need to get some more work done first.

...

I got home last night to find that my computer hard drive decided to go on vacation. It refused to boot up and claimed it was lost somewhere in cyberspace (translation: no hard drive detected). So, after about an hour of screwing around with it, trying various rebooting techniques, I gave up and decided to work on some craft projects.

Last week I purchased some blank postcards for collaging, and so I chose to work with those. I have a series in mind of seven cards; I worked on five of them last night, getting the backgrounds painted. Two are actually complete: "Me" has a violet background with a purple vellum butterfly and a pic of me glued on it. "Passion" is pink with lavender cutout hearts and heart stamps. The other three are: "Brilliant Hell" (red), "Psychosis" (green), and "Blues" (blue). I don't have any collage materials that are appropriate for those themes, but that gives me an excuse to be on the lookout for more stuff to hoard and collect! The two I have not created yet will be titled "No Regrets" and "Love." I don't know what color I will be painting those. Perhaps orange and teal.

I love collage, and I like to use found items, rather than the prepackaged doodads you can buy in craft stores. Sometimes the doodads are too neat to pass up, though.

A casual search on AltaVista reveals many collage websites.

Collageart.org has links to other sites on collage, while this site has pictures of famous artists' collage works of art. Since I am somewhat art-ignorant, it is interesting to see that Picasso has some collage masterpieces.

Wow. More people need to do this! Check this out too.
